Christ Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the Holy Temple of the Lord God He found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business, and making a whip of cords, He became angry with them and drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the Holy Temple; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. And He told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; you shall not make my Father’s House a house of trade.” Christ Jesus was full of zeal for the sanctity of the Holy Temple of the Lord God. "Christ Jesus' Vexation in the Holy Temple of the Lord God in Jerusalem" Christ’s displeasure is visible when He sees people putting their business and trade before God, even in the very Holy Temple of the Lord God.

The activities of the money changers in the Holy Temple were tantamount to disobedience and Christ became vexed. We need to be encouraged to be obedient to God’s commandments. We present our petitions to the Loving Father, our God asking Him to sanctify our lives so that we fully rediscover our true identity as members of Christ’s body and participate with greater enthusiasm in the proclamation of the Gospel. We have to give due reverence not only to the Holy Temple of the Lord God but also to our bodies, which are Temples of the Holy Spirit.

God has the message of eternal life and He desires that we live by this message so that we can attain the happiness of being reunited with Him the happiness of being united with the love of the Lord God.

Lord God our Loving Father, You have the words of eternal life which we desire. We implore You to hear our petitions, we ask that You may aid us to always obey Your commandments, so that our lives may be a living sacrifice acceptable to You.
