The Holy Mass in the Holy Catholic Church is a lovely and beautiful ritual celebration of what Christ Jesus fulfilled only once in history: The Last Supper on Holy Thursday before His passion, His Death on the Cross on Good Friday, and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday. The celebration of the Holy Mass has Introductory Rites where the Holy Mass begins with the entrance chant, the Liturgy of the Word with most of the Liturgy of the Word is made up of readings from the Holy Scripture, the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist begins with the preparation of the gifts and the Altar and the Concluding Rite by the Main Celebrant leading the Holy Mass. The ritual celebration of the Holy Mass is more lovely and beautiful. The Christians and Priests celebrate and remember the Holy Mass was first celebrated by the Lord Jesus Christ.
On the last Sunday of each Liturgical Year, the Holy Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, or Christ the King and Pope Pius XI instituted this feast in 1925 with his encyclical Quas Primas [“In the first”] to respond to growing secularism and atheism and the Bishop of Gary in Indiana Most Rev. Robert J. McClory on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 has announced that from the Solemnity of Christ the King 2023, the faithful "After two decades, Gary Diocese will Return Back to Kneeling after Agnus Dei Chant" [Lamb of God] having taken two decades without doing so like the other Dioceses in the Holy Catholic Church. He said that for two decades our diocese has adopted the permissible posture of standing after the Agnus Dei and throughout Communion.
Ideally, Christians should kneel before the reception of the Holy Mass as we prepare to receive the Holy Eucharist the food of our souls. It's good that the Bishop of Gary has made this move for the beauty of his Diocese and the whole Catholic Church.
Bishop Robert McClory’s motto “Iesum Dominum Praedicamus” [“We Proclaim Jesus as Lord”] saying it reminds us of the humility with which all Christians should approach their mission as disciples. He made a nice statement about kneeling: “As we kneel, we acknowledge that Jesus is truly present in the Holy Eucharist, and we kneel down in worship before Him because Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords." He also said that We need to return to our Catholic roots and reverence for the Sacraments!
Personally, Holy Mass is a completely beautiful and appropriate act of reverence that we should always have in our minds.
On Sunday, November 26th, 2023, we are going to conclude the Liturgical Year A of the Church and celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe as Christ Jesus reigns as our King forever.
