Emmanuel Nigel: "Good Shepherd Sunday: To Follow the Profound Love of Christ the Good Shepherd."

The profound love of Christ, the Good Shepherd who offered Himself for us, laid down His life for us, we are His own He knows is all, He laid down His life for us that we may have eternal life. Christ the Good Shepherd wants us to always follow His life and we have to heed to the voice of the Good Shepherd. "Good Shepherd Sunday: To Follow the Profound Love of Christ the Good Shepherd." Christ is full of profound love He is considered to be the Good Shepherd but then He is more than a Good Shepherd He shows care and Christ wants to care for us more because He has a profound love for us. We should follow His profound love as the Good Shepherd. "If we sincerely heed the voice of Christ the Good Shepherd we become Christ's good flock" Christ brings us together but does not scatter us.

In celebration of the Good Shepherd Sunday [Sunday, April 21st, 2024] on the 4th Sunday of Easter we also pray for God's servants: for the Vicar of Christ, for all the Bishops, for all the Priests, for all the Religious Brothers, and Sisters "The grace to be good and true Shepherds in caring for the souls of God's children and that they may not scatter the flock of entrusted to them" and we implore for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life that we may have more young men and women who will eventually put their lives in rendering service to God's children and working diligently for the good of everyone.

Gracious and Holy God, Your profound love for us is completely great to help us to constantly follow Your Son Christ Jesus the Good Shepherd, so that we may become Good Shepherd like Him.

Amen. Characteristics of a good shepherd.

A good shepherd protects his sheep.

He knows them.

He feeds them well.

He lays down his life for them.

He loves them.

He cares for them.

We too are shepherds, called to take care of the flock in our hands.

Let's learn from the Master.
