Holy Saturday: Christ in His Blessed Sleep, Christ descended into the realm of the dead,
Jesus' Death!
But with a Blessed Sleep,
From which His earthly life ended;
My Lord in the tomb,
A quiet and placid repose,
Unbroken by the last of foes.
Jesus in the tomb!
Peaceful Rest,
Whose waking is mightily blessed;
No fear, no suffering,
Shall obscure that hour,
That manifests the Saviour’s power,
My Crucified Christ,
Hope to Resurrection He waits.
