Today, Sunday, January 11th, 2026: On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, I attended the First Mass at Christ the King Parish Kitgum, the Celebration of the Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Mathew Orach Ssemwanga, who serves as the Curate of Christ the King Parish Kitgum. But then my heart was held in amazement during the Liturgy as I saw a very Young Boy, Norbert Mao Omara, as he was playing the Keyboard throughout the Celebration of the Holy Mass from the Entrance Chant to the Exit. He learnt how to play the Keyboard and was greatly mentored by his father.

"An Altar Boy and Young Organist Norbert Mao Omara: Seeing the Importance of Mentorship for a Child." I think there is a great need for Mentorship and we must focus on Mentorship day by day. Norbert Mao Omara is an Altar Boy of Christ the King Parish, Kitgum, and he sat his Primary Leaving Examinations Last Year, 2025, and hopes to join a Secondary School in February 2026. His father, Mr. Geoffrey Oryem, is the Senior Organist of Christ the King Parish Kitgum, and he played the Keyboard among the Organists during the Rite and Beatification of Blessed Fr. Dr. Giuseppe Ambrosoli at Sacred Heart Parish, Kalongo Parish, on Sunday, November 20th, 2022. I am grateful for the Mentorship of Children and Young People by their Parents and Guardians.

"Have you ever mentored someone? Who are you mentoring? Who will you mentor?" Mentorship is one of the greatest gifts a Parent and Guardian can offer a child. Beyond formal Education, Children need guidance from Adults who can shape their Character, Values, and Vision for life on earth. Through Mentorship, a Child learns Discipline, Respect, Responsibility, and Confidence. Mentors provide positive role models who inspire Children to dream bigger, work harder, and live with integrity. When Parents, Guardians, and Stakeholders intentionally encourage Mentorship, they invest not only in their Children's future success but also in their moral and emotional growth. We need to encourage Mentorship as much as possible. We must see the plausibility of Mentorship.

I am happy for Mr. Geoffrey Oryem, a Senior Organist of Christ the King Parish Kitgum, who has mentored his Son, Norbert Mao Omara, and his boy can now play the Keyboard during the Celebration of the Holy Mass in Church very well, whether his father is there or not. This is absolutely exquisite. "Mentorship for Children and Young People is indispensable and very crucial. As we live our earthly lives, let us be mindful of Mentorship."
