Bishop Charles Martin Wamika lived and celebrated the Sacraments, preached the Word of God, and upheld the Love and Amalgamation of the Mother Church. And now his death reminds me of the fragile nature of Human Life and the Eternal Hope promised in Jesus Christ. It's both a time of mourning and thanksgiving - mourning for the loss of a Spiritual Father, and thanksgiving for the life he lived in faithful service to God and the Church as an Episcopate. "Bishop Charles Martin Wamika, a Spiritual Father Who Upholds the Love and Amalgamation of the Mother Church Until His Last Breath." At the age of 72, the gift of his earthly life ended yesterday, Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, but he continues to inspire those he led. In faith, I believe that he now rests in the Peace of Christ, receiving the Eternal reward prepared for those who have served the Lord faithfully.
Bishop Charles Martin Wamika dedicated himself to nurturing unity and love among the Clergy and Laity, promoting peace, justice, compassion, and organizing the Celebration of Uganda Martyrs' Day at Namugongo on June 3rd, 2023, which was beautifully animated by the Catholic Diocese of Jinja. His leadership extended beyond the Church, touching lives through Charity and Pastoral Care. The death of Bishop Charles Martin Wamika is not just the loss of a Religious Leader, but the departure of a father figure and moral compass for many Faithful.
It's so unfortunate that he died but I celebrate the life of Bishop Charles Martin Wamika, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jinja. I celebrate a life spent in Prayer, Sacrifice, and Service to the Lord God and His people. I thank the Lord God for the gift of the Pastoral Ministry of Bishop Charles Martin Wamika and for the many souls he helped to bring closer to Christ, and for seeing that salvation is gained for all the Faithful.
May the Soul of Bishop Charles Martin Wamika Rest in Eternal Peace, and may his example continue to inspire all who knew him to live with Faith, Humility, and Love.
