Christ the King Parish, Kitgum which is in the Archdiocese of Gulu had a successful Youth Vocations Day yesterday Friday, January 19th, 2024 with the theme: "Unleash Your Potential with Christ for Christ." The Youth were from different Chapels under Christ the King Parish, Kitgum. The first session of the day was the topic of vocations and it was brilliantly delivered by the Assistant Vocation Director of the Archdiocese of Gulu Fr. Sander Kesseler Martin Peter the Dutch National and Priest of the Holy Catholic Church who is working in the Archdiocese of Gulu gave a wonderful session to the Youth who have attended the Youth Vocations Day. He addressed the Youth: You are the future of the Church. Youth, I am proud of you that you have come God is in a relationship with you. You're born for a reason you're not useless you're born because God needs you: God wants you God loves you. "God brought Jesus Christ into the world to bring us to Him."
For the Vocation to Priesthood he said "When you're a Priest, you are not allowed to marry" There are three Vocations; Marriage, Priesthood, and Religious Life [Sisters and Brothers]. For the Youth who wish to start a Family Life, he told the Youth what Pope Francis said on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 "Don't act on lust" and "A Vocation Start with a Relationship with God." Fr. Sander Kesseler accentuated to the Youth that "God created your soul for a reason."
He urged the Youth to listen to your heart, not to your body. As a Youth, you have to play a role in the Church. Unite and come together as a Youth, come together in Christ. God's love goes beyond you. Trust in God and believe that God wants you but start your relationship with Jesus. Fr. Sander Kesseler Martin Peter concluded the first session by telling the Youth "Go to the Church and pray to God to show you the way."
