As you mark another year as a Catholic Priest today Friday, July 5th, 2024, I gloat about your unwavering commitment to the Church's service and the spiritual well-being of the Christians and people of God, He chose you and ordained you with the anointment of Chrism and the action of “Laying on of Hands” by the Archbishop and Priests and the “Prayer of Consecration” which is greatly the heart of the Ordination Rite in the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church and confer the grace of Ministerial Priesthood of the Lord Jesus Christ and your ordination that took place on Saturday, July 5th, 2014 from Christ the King Parish Kitgum and ordained by His Grace Dr. John Baptist Odama now an Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Gulu.
As a Parish Mate, may your ministry in the Holy Order continue to flourish and give the Lord God much glory. I will always remember the year 1997 when I have known you from Akworo Primary School in Kitgum District: 27 years of friendship now and 27 years of brotherhood now this is absolutely remarkable it's quite tremendous and quite extraordinary. The Lord God has chosen you and has given His blessing and grace to you to work in His Holy Church always remember this enormous gift that you have received from Him "Happy 10th Priestly Anniversary Fr. Alfred Okumu as You Share in the Priesthood of Christ." I thank the Lord God for your gift of life, for giving you the strength to carry on with His work and I thank you for yielding to the Lord God and for serving God's mission the redemption of human souls.
With heartfelt gratification and congratulations on your 10th Priestly Anniversary. May your service as a Priest be a beacon of hope, draw many people closer to the Lord God, and bring peace and mercy. Let your service fully touch the hearts of God's people, let the people see Christ in you, and always imitate Christ who is the High Priest the One you share the Ministerial Priesthood with. Be closer to Christ!
