Baptism is a Christian sacrament, by which one is received into a Church and sometimes given a name, generally involving one to be anointed with or submerged in water. But the Baptism of Christ Jesus prefigures the eventual establishment of the Sacrament of Baptism as the initiatory Sacrament that washes away Original Sin and makes us children of God through water and the Holy Spirit. Christ Jesus, at His baptism, is anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit. He is the proclaimed Messiah who has brought good news and salvation to Humanity. God the Father is so delighted that signs and marvels are made manifest in His words and deeds. Through our Baptism as Christians that makes us Children of God, our lives are to be ordered to that of Christ Jesus as sharers in His threefold mission of Priest, Prophet, and King.
Through the grace of the Sacrament of Baptism, the Lord God has made us Children of Light with the gift of the Sacrament of Baptism. As baptized Christians, we should always walk in that light and be witnesses of the Holy Gospel. As Baptized Christians, "Let's fully Engage in Evangelization by Bearing Witness to Christ in our Lives." We must have true light and, through our lives, we may bring God’s salvation to ourselves and Humanity. We need to be led by God’s Spirit towards selflessly serving the people of God and bringing freedom and peace. In our faith, we should remain firm, and our Lord God will never fail us and will come to our aid in our Christian journey in quest of salvation and the glory of Heaven.
Most Holy Father, our Lord God, it is Your free will that all people be baptized and receive Your gift of salvation so that our souls may not feel the fire of hell. Kindly, hear our prayers and give us the grace to imitate Your Beloved Son Christ Jesus in living out an authentic life of service.
