Peace Together Uganda [PTU] is a Non-Profit Organization that was founded in Pajule Town, Pader District, Northern Uganda by the then Rev. Deacon Leonsyo Akena Ribamoi and his childhood cronies on July 15th, 2007 at the peak of Lord's Resistance Army [LRA] rebels insurgency that lasted for 22 years a war between the Lord's Resistance Army under the leadership of Joseph Kony and the Government of Uganda leaving so many people killed, abducted, displaced, and peace wasn't in the Northern part of Uganda many people suffered during the war. But quite rooted in the Gospel Spirit, the Charity is envisioned to build much more Community Peace through: Education, Health, Livelihoods, and Peace Building Initiatives. Peace Together Uganda has Peace Projects like Culture, Religious, and Political Affiliations, and now being followed by over 1 million people through social media networks and various Chapters in Northern Uganda with some neighboring Countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo [DRC], South Sudan, and also at international level. The motto of Peace Together Uganda is "Community Peace, Our Destiny" literally translated in Acoli Language as "Kuc Alwak, Aye Mitiwa."

"Peace Together Uganda to Hold an Eminent 25th World Peace Day Celebrations in Kitgum" With the theme: “Action for Peace: Our Commitment to the Global Goals.” The auspicious event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th, 2024 at Kitgum Bomah Grounds in Kitgum Municipality, Northern Uganda commencing at 10:00 AM with the celebration of the Holy Mass and the Principal Celebrant will be His Grace Dr. John Baptist Odama the Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Gulu. Ms. Fiona Fildah Akwero who is the Chairperson for the Central Organizing Committee [COC] is toiling very hard with the Committee Members who are dedicated to making the 25th World Peace Day Celebrations in Kitgum a flourished one.

The Chief Guest for the 25th World Peace Day Celebrations will be Her Excellency Jessica Alupo the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda. At the moment, Peace Together Uganda has an initiative for the construction of one block of four Classrooms that will cost nearly $60,000 [210 Million Shillings] with their Bank Account in Centenary Bank the Account Number is 7420400888 and the Account Name is Peace Together Uganda. You can be part of this ginormous initiative with your kind heart of support.

The event will draw quite several people from all Walks of Life, Social Statuses, and Different Backgrounds; featuring the Focolare Movement, Religious Leaders, Cultural Leaders, Political Leaders, Civil Authorities, Non-Governmental Organizations [NGOs], Community-Based Organizations [CBOs], Community Elders, Business Communities, Financial Institutions, Schools, Institutions, and the Local Rural Population. The Peace-Driven event that Peace Together Uganda is trying to organize and promote is for all people who share a common interest in peace-building and nurturing fraternal relationships among the people of Northern Uganda with other parts of Uganda, Africa, and the whole world. It's worthwhile to note that Peace Together Uganda has had so many gracious opportunities to organize multiple Peace Conferences over the past 17 years of her life span as part of her overall Vision of building Community Peace as her Destiny and I have the conviction that Peace Together Uganda [PTU] will continue to do so many gracious things for the people and ensuring that people live in peace. We should stick to the theme for the celebration of the 25th World Peace Day that has been chosen: “Action for Peace: Our Commitment to the Global Goals." Peace needs our actions and commitment. We should strive to let the 8.1 billion World Population embrace peace with our action for peace and with our commitment to the Global Goals - this should be our greatest desire and Peace Together Uganda wants to put ourselves in that mood in attaining true peace.

When we have peace when we have true peace it helps us to stay calm in all situations: it offers us calmness which helps us avoid mental health issues like stress, anxiety, and unnecessary worries. Our communities need a culture of peace that enhances social interactions, reduces violence, and promotes a sense of well-being, and harmony in various aspects of life. We should know that without peace, it will not be plausible for us to achieve the levels of trust, cooperation, and eventual inclusiveness that are needed for societies to be resilient to shocks, manage disputes, and adapt to transformation in our different communities. "All of us need to be concerned about peace. Each one of us needs to build a Community of Peace. If we want an exquisite family, community, and nation, we should work for peace, promote, and protect it." Every living human person should work for peace - peace builds self-confidence, increases the serotonin level, influence our mood and behaviour, resolve phobias and fears, help us to control our own thoughts, and the presence of peace helps with focus and much more concentration. It increases our brain wave coherence and improves learning ability and memory. We have to become Peace Lovers and Peace Advocates wherever we are, life becomes good when we have peace. "We must not remain silent when it comes to the issue of peace." We should advocate for peace day and night.

"We have a lot of things to do for peace so that we can have true peace fostering stronger friendship and cooperation - Cultural, Religious, and Political differences should not separate us from each other and should not even make us lose steps toward peace, but rather Cultural, Religious, and Political Diversity should bring a collective responsibility and strength for peace that can benefit the whole humanity."

It's only peace that can bring us together and create bonds that would never have existed. We need to embrace the initiative of Peace Together Uganda [PTU] and duly support the Organization. Piemonte House sincerely thanks Rev. Fr. Leonsyo Akena Ribamoi and his childhood cronies for their wise thoughts and for having founded Peace Together Uganda which seeks Community Peace through: Education, Health, Livelihoods, and Peace Building Initiatives.
