‎Peace Together Uganda (PTU), as an Organization is absolutely delighted to commemorate the 45th International Peace Day 2026 under the inspiring Theme, “Walking Together With Jesus for Peace.” This Celebration calls upon all people to walk together in the spirit of Jesus Christ, embracing Peace, Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Justice, Compassion, and Solidarity. True Peace is not simply the absence of conflict; it's the presence of Justice, Respect, Dialogue, Love, and Human Dignity in our families, Communities, Institutions, and Society.

‎The Celebration will bring together Children, Young People, Women, Community Leaders, Educators, Religious Leaders, Peacebuilders, and Friends of Peace at PTU School, Pajule, Pader District, Northern Uganda, on Saturday, September 19th, 2026. The 45th International Peace Day 2026 begins with the Celebration of the Holy Mass at 10:00 AM, presided over by His Grace Dr. John Baptist Odama, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Gulu, followed by other Programs such as a Peace Lecture, Dialogue Committee Launch, PTU 20th Anniversary Launch, and Peace Festival.

‎As we commemorate this important Day, "Peace Together Uganda (PTU) Invites Us All to Reflect on Our Shared Responsibility to Become Instruments of Peace and Walk Together for Peace." As it's in the Theme, walking with Jesus Christ means walking with one another, harkening to each other, healing divisions, protecting Human Dignity, supporting the Vulnerable, and choosing Dialogue over violence.

‎As our world is facing conflicts day and night, Hatred, Discrimination, Poverty, Injustice, and Social Divisions, our commitment to Peace must begin with each one of us. Peace starts in the human heart and grows through our daily choices and actions.

‎May this Celebration of the 45th International Peace Day 2026 inspire us to become Ambassadors of Peace and Reconciliation, particularly among Children and Young People, and to build Communities where everyone can live with Dignity, Hope, Freedom, and Security.
