The Death of My Maternal Grandmother Elibediza Acaa,

Ever venerated and loved,

I thank the Lord God for the gift of your life,

Your gentle hands once held my own,

Through laughter’s light and sorrow’s tone.

Your voice - a song, so soft, and so wise,

Still whispers love that never perishes,

You have always called me 'My Son'

You have always wished me well,

You have always asked for me,

I mourn your death,

But I also celebrate the life you lived.

From my childhood,

You taught me love, respect, obedience, and grace,

You gave me guidance,

The peace that quiet kindness brings,

You cared for me and my sisters in Oyuru Village, Kitgum District, Northern Uganda,

We had a difficult life,

But you were so brave to walk with us.

When our father was abducted and killed by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) Rebels in 1995,

You showed me love and faith through trials and tears,

And the strength that grew across the years since 1995,

As I live my life,

I will always remember Oyuru Village,

As I live my life,

I will always remember you,

You have been an Excellent Maternal Grandmother.

Remembering all the Souls departed today,

Sunday, November 2nd, 2025,

And you also died today on All Souls' Day,

You were Christ's Believer,

I pray for your Soul,

May Christ have mercy on your Soul,

I believe that Heaven’s gate has opened,

I wish you could enter,

To welcome you in Heaven's contentment.

Though distance stands, and time may part,

Your memory beats within my heart.

A fragrant rose my heart still knows,

Rest in Eternal Peace, Dear Grandmother Elibediza Acaa!
