Pope Francis vilified the “desperate” situation in Gaza, calling for peace, during his general audience on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, he told the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square that his “thoughts go to Palestine and Israel,” expressing great concern that this war could spread. He urged the faithful to pray for peace and he said “The victims are increasing and the situation in Gaza is desperate," "May, please everything, everything is done to avoid a humanitarian disaster, and it’s possible that this war might grow. War does not solve any problems. It only sows death and destruction. It increases hatred and multiplies revenge. War destroys the future.” Pope Francis loves peace and he wants everyone every human person to live in peace.

His Holiness Pope Francis urged the faithful to take "only one side" in the Israel-Hamas conflict, the side "of peace, prayer, and total dedication.” "His Holiness Pope Francis Urges an End to Violence in the Israel-Gaza War" In that vein, he announced a day of prayer, fasting, and penance to be on Friday, October 27th, 2023. The Pontiff urged all Christians and other religions to pray to do likewise in the way they see best to “come together for peace in the world.” He continued with his message of peace “I call on all believers to take only one side in this conflict that of peace, not with words but with prayer," "In a spirit of penance, we’ll have an hour of prayer to implore God for peace in our days, peace in the world.” The Vicar of Christ has always dared to speak for the peace of the world and support for peace in his papacy.

The most efficacious prayer for peace, the one that is always answered is: “Holy Father, glorify Your name. Answer our cries, Lord, in a way that will accomplish Your will, for Your will is good, sufficient, and excellent. It's best for You, and hence best for us and who may be affected by this prayer." Give us true peace as we pray and fast today Friday, October 27th, 2023 for peace in the world, especially in war countries like the Israel-Gaza War, Ukraine-Russia War, and other countries without peace.
